The Cotswolds is the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the whole of England and Wales.

Local villages date back to the 14th Century, whereas nearby Bath and Cirencester have Roman origins. The village of South Cerney itself, in which Waters edge is situated, is a beautifully preserved example of rural England. Despite the growth that the area is enjoying, it still has all the charm of a typical Cotswold village.
